Vector Tesla Series VTR-H servo-hydraulic universal testing machine — 300 to 5000 kN capacity for tensile, compression and flexural testing on metals, concrete and structural composites.

VTR-50-0500

Hydraulic Universal Testing Machine

Up to 1000 kN

Overview

The Vector Tesla Series VTR-H servo-hydraulic universal testing machine delivers high-load precision for demanding tensile, compression and flexural tests on metals, concrete, welded structures and large composite specimens. Available from 300 kN to 5000 kN, the VTR-H is engineered for daily duty in steelworks, construction-materials laboratories, certification bodies and aerospace QA.

Servo-hydraulic closed-loop actuation provides smooth, repeatable force control across the full load range. The heavy-duty four-column frame is designed for long-term stability and negligible deflection at peak load, and it interfaces with the Tesla Test Software for end-to-end test orchestration, real-time analytics and traceable compliance reporting per ISO, ASTM, EN and DIN methods.

At a glance

  • 300 – 5000 kN load capacity range
  • Servo-hydraulic closed-loop control with PID resolution down to 1 N
  • ±0.5% accuracy — ISO 7500-1 (Class 0.5) / ASTM E4
  • 0.5 – 250 mm/min adjustable crosshead speed
  • Four-column frame for tension + compression + flexure without retooling

Application Areas

The VTR-H servo-hydraulic platform is purpose-built for high-load mechanical testing across heavy industry, construction, certification and aerospace QA.

Steel & Reinforcement Bars

Tensile yield and ultimate strength of rebar to ISO 6892-1, ASTM A615, BS 4449 and TS 708; bend and re-bend tests on reinforcement steel per ISO 15630-1 and ASTM A370.

Concrete & Cementitious Materials

Compressive strength of cylindrical and cube specimens to ASTM C39, EN 12390-3 and TS EN 12390-3; flexural strength of concrete beams per ASTM C293 and EN 12390-5.

Welding & Fabrication QA

Transverse tensile, side-bend and root/face-bend tests on welded joints to ISO 4136, ISO 5173 and ASTM E190 — qualifying weld procedures (WPQR) and welder performance.

Heavy Composites & Plates

Tensile, compression and flexural characterisation of fibre-reinforced laminates, sandwich panels and structural plates beyond the capacity of benchtop systems.

Aerospace, Defence & Lifting Gear

Static strength validation of large bolts, fasteners, lifting hooks, chains and structural assemblies — verified up to 1000 kN with traceable Class 0.5 calibration.

Custom High-Load Applications

Need a fixture or method that isn't off-the-shelf? Vector's application engineers design custom jigs and protocols for non-standard specimens and demanding load profiles.

Advantages & Features

Performance characteristics engineered for reliable, certification-grade results on high-load specimens.

300 – 5000 kN

Wide Capacity Coverage

A single VTR-H series spans rebar tensile tests at 300 kN through to 5000 kN concrete and structural compression — capacity tiers selectable per laboratory load profile.

±0.5%

Class 0.5 Force Accuracy

Every VTR-H frame is verified to ISO 7500-1 / ASTM E4 Class 0.5 across the full hydraulic range, with traceable certification supplied at delivery.

4-Column

Heavy-Duty Frame

Four-column servo-hydraulic frame engineered for negligible deflection at peak load and long-term mechanical stability under continuous industrial duty.

1 N

Fine PID Force Control

Closed-loop servo-hydraulic actuation resolves loads to 1 N, keeping force, position and strain-rate control stable from low setpoint to peak capacity.

3-in-1

Tension + Compression + Flexure

One frame and one software handle every primary test mode without changing the load train; tensile grips, compression platens and bend fixtures swap in minutes.

USB / Ethernet

PC-Controlled Operation

Fully bilateral PC integration via USB 2.0/3.0 or Ethernet, with two extra analogue channels and integrated signal conditioning for extensometers and auxiliary transducers.

Tesla Software interface

Advanced Software & Control

The Tesla Test Software turns the VTR-H frame into a calibrated, audit-ready test cell. Force, position and strain-rate control are coordinated in closed-loop while live curves, automatic computations and one-click reporting keep the operator focused on the specimen.

  • Pre-Loaded MethodsASTM, ISO, DIN, EN and TS templates for rebar, concrete, weld coupons, plastics and composites — usable as-is or as a starting point for custom workflows.

  • No-Code Workflow Editor — define stepwise/staged load profiles, triggers, hold phases and result formulas graphically; save as reusable templates.

  • Live Analysis & Reporting — real-time force–displacement and stress–strain curves; auto-computed yield, ultimate, modulus and elongation; PDF / Excel / CSV / binary export.

  • Force, Position & Strain-Rate Control — closed-loop servo-hydraulic actuation switchable between force-, displacement- and strain-rate control on the fly.
