Mechanical Wedge Grips

Mechanical wedge grips use a self-tightening wedge mechanism for tensile testing of metals, plastics, and composites. Shoulder, threaded, and flat-faced variants are selected for specimen geometry and expected break load.

They secure high-strength steel, aluminium, composites, and plastics to the test axis, reducing slip and premature failure at the jaw face.
