Automatic Single Vicat Device

Fully Automatic Precise Setting-Time Analysis

The Vector Automatic Single-Unit Vicat Tester automates the entire cement (or mortar/gypsum) setting-time procedure on one mold. After the operator places a single Vicat mold into the chamber, the tester’s motorized needle-drop and retrieval mechanism, guided by a 7″ color HMI touchscreen, executes the test from initial penetration through final set. Dynamic timing intervals adjust in real time based on measured needle depth, capturing sharp “initial set” and “final set” endpoints while eliminating false-end artifacts. All test data: needle depths, timestamps, initial and final set values are logged and retained in onboard memory for unlimited records; results export as PDF via USB.

Overview

Standards Compliance

This single-unit tester conforms fully to EN 196-3 protocols for cement setting-time determination and meets the equivalent requirements of ASTM C187/C191, AASHTO T129/T131 and BS EN 196-3. All critical parameters—drop intervals, penetration thresholds and environmental conditions—are pre-configured to the relevant standard version selected via HMI.

Quality & Innovation

The Vector Vicat Tester incorporates dynamic stroke control that automatically tightens drop intervals as the sample stiffens, guaranteeing precise capture of both initial and final set without any operator intervention. A rapid “final-set verification” mechanism prevents false-set readings by delivering confirmatory blows at the endpoint. Its high-precision sensor measures needle depth to 0.01 mm, ensuring exceptional repeatability, while the stainless-steel plunger and corrosion-resistant test cell provide the durability needed for continuous operation. Designed for ease of use, the unit offers generous test‐cell access, a single-button start and a quick-release mold holder to minimize setup time and streamline your workflow
