TASKS AND SOLUTIONS

Task: Cement – Determination of Compressive Strength

Reges Tikinti Materialları MMC needed to accurately determine the compressive strength of cement samples to ensure product quality and compliance with TS EN 196-1:2009 standards. The samples consisted of 160 × 40 × 40 mm prism-shaped specimens, which required precise testing to evaluate their structural performance. Initially, the samples must undergo a flexural (bending) test before performing the compressive strength test on the split prisms, ensuring that the measured strength reflects the material’s true behavior under load.

Universal testing system designed for tensile and compression tests

Vector’s Solution

VECTOR provided a tensile-bending-compression universal testing machine equipped with a 40 × 40 mm breaking jig capable of handling up to 20 tons (200 kN) of force at a loading speed of 2400 ± 200 N/s. The system allowed Reges to first perform flexural tests and then accurately measure the compressive strength of the split prism specimens, ensuring reliable, repeatable results that met the required standards.

The testing machine’s advanced features and precise control not only improved the accuracy of Reges’ quality assessments but also enhanced efficiency by reducing the time needed for multiple tests. By providing detailed data on material behavior under both bending and compressive loads, VECTOR enabled Reges to optimize production processes, ensure compliance with international standards, and confidently deliver high-quality construction materials to their customers.

Task: Aerated Concrete – Compressive Strength Testing

Reges needed to perform compressive strength tests on aerated concrete samples cut to 100 × 100 mm dimensions to comply with TS EN 772-1+A1:2015 standards. The goal was to ensure that the material meets strength requirements for safe construction applications.

Vector’s Solution

VECTOR supplied a tensile-bending-compression universal testing system capable of measuring loads from 0.05–1 N/mm² per second. The setup enabled precise compressive strength evaluation of the aerated concrete specimens, ensuring repeatable and accurate results that supported Reges’ quality control processes.

Task: Gypsum Panels – Flexural Strength / Breaking Load

Reges Tikinti Materialları MMC needed to determine the flexural strength and breaking load of gypsum panels measuring 300 × 400 mm in compliance with TS EN 520 + A1:2010. The goal was to ensure that the panels could withstand bending forces in interior construction applications without failure, guaranteeing reliable performance and structural safety.

Vector’s Solution

VECTOR provided a tensile-bending-compression universal testing machine equipped with two parallel supports spaced 350 ± 1 mm apart with rounded edges between 3–15 mm in diameter. The system applied a controlled loading speed of 250 N/min, allowing Reges to accurately measure the breaking load and flexural strength of each panel. This solution ensured repeatable, reliable results that confirmed compliance with the standard and supported quality assurance processes.

Task: Concrete Blocks and Pavers – Splitting / Breaking Testing

Reges required testing of concrete blocks and pavers as per TS 2824 EN 1338:2005 to evaluate splitting and breaking performance under load. Different sizes of samples demanded a versatile testing solution.

Vector’s Solution

VECTOR provided a universal testing machine equipped with a bending apparatus, featuring two rigid heads with 75 ± 5 mm radius for accurate force application. The system allowed Reges to conduct consistent, standardized tests across various block and paver sizes, ensuring material reliability and quality compliance.

Task: Cement – Flexural Strength Test

Reges Tikinti Materialları MMC needed to determine the flexural strength of cement prisms in compliance with TS EN 196-1:2009. Each specimen, measuring 160 × 40 × 40 mm, had to be tested using a three-point bending setup with support rollers positioned 100 ± 0.5 mm apart. The objective was to ensure precise and repeatable results to verify the structural quality of cement materials used in construction.

Vector’s Solution

VECTOR provided a universal testing machine equipped with a three-point bending apparatus consisting of two lower support rollers and one centrally placed loading roller, each measuring 45–50 mm in length and 10 ± 0.5 mm in diameter. The system applied a controlled loading rate of 50 ± 10 N/s with a maximum capacity of 100 kN (10 tons). This setup allowed Reges to accurately measure flexural strength in accordance with the standard, ensuring compliance, reliability, and consistency in test outcomes.

Task: Concrete Blocks and Paving Stones – Splitting Test

Reges Tikinti Materialları MMC needed to evaluate the splitting strength of concrete blocks and paving stones in accordance with TS 2824 EN 1338:2005. The objective was to ensure that paving units of different sizes could withstand splitting loads under real-world service conditions, verifying durability and compliance with construction standards.

Vector’s Solution

VECTOR provided a universal testing machine equipped with a splitting test apparatus consisting of two rigid loading heads, each with a radius of 75 ± 5 mm, as required by the standard. This configuration enabled precise application of load to the specimens, ensuring accurate determination of splitting strength. The system allowed Reges to test paving stones and blocks of various dimensions, guaranteeing reliable, repeatable, and standard-compliant results.
