The [Vector air jet sieve (VTR-1014)](/sample-preparation/sieving/alpine-air-jet-sieve/) brings automated, negative-pressure jet sieving to fine and cohesive powders below 200 µm — where vibratory shakers fail through agglomeration and screen blinding. For binding requirements follow the [EN 196-6 summary](/resources/standards/en-196-6/) and your accredited quality system, and see the [sieve analysis glossary](/resources/glossary/sieve-analysis/) for definitions.

## Operating principle

A rotating slotted nozzle under controlled vacuum draws air up through the test sieve, fluidizing the sample and breaking up agglomerates while continuously clearing the mesh. The vacuum pulls passing fines downward to the exhaust or an optional cyclone collector.

## Workflow context

Air jet sieving complements [Blaine fineness testing](/cement-fineness-test/) and broader [sieving systems](/sample-preparation/sieving/air-jet-sieve-systems/) in cement, mineral, food, and pharmaceutical laboratories.
